3 Things

1. Terrible 3s
Austin skipped terrible twos (he was an angel) and is now testing out terrible threes.
I can probably count on 1 hand the number of naughty, mischievous things he has done because it is just not like him! On Saturday this is what I found..

All I can say is, Thanks for not flushing.
I'm not quite sure why he did it, but I am sure he won't do it again.

 2. Birthday Wreath
I have been wanting to make this for a long time and since Austin's birthday is next week, it was perfect!

You can find the instructions here- I ended up needing 3 bags of balloons.
It was really easy and a fun thing to put up for everyone's birthday each year!

3. Laugh it Up
I have a hard time getting my little Kayla to giggle for me, she's a tough crowd.
I had gotten her undressed for her bath and was playing with her, trying my hardest to get a little giggle.
Then she let out a laugh and I was so excited....
until I realized she was peeing all over me.

I guess she already cracks herself up.
Laugh it up Kayla...
I'll take what I can get.

**UPDATE**
Austin's dumps now land in the toilet, as of 3 days ago!
Maybe he read the blog post and felt really embarrassed.
I don't blame him.

Dump.

When you have a baby,
poop becomes a big deal.

You feel thrilled every time your baby poops because you know things are working right.

You talk to your girlfriends about their kid's poops.

You even become brave enough to stick your nose up to their butt & smell if they have a poop.

My afternoon was filled..
with poop.

It started at lunch when Austin hides under the table because he has to poop. I quickly remind him that he doesn't have a diaper on.

At the moment, he pees like a champ on the toilet but will only go poop in his diaper.

But now that he is a toddler it isn't just an innocent poop anymore,
it's a man size dump.
And you can smell it from anywhere in my house.

We rush home in time to put a diaper on him.

Meanwhile, Kayla has been screaming hysterically.
I pull her out of her car seat only to find that her back is wet.
That means poop,
more poop.

I get her on the changing table and it is an explosion.
It had graduated from diaper change, to a full body sanitation in her bath tub.

As I am quickly trying to fill up her tub, she is still screaming and Austin is running around the house yelling that he pooped.

Unfortunately, it only gets better.

When I was wiping off Kayla,
she kicked her foot into her poop and then kicked me when that foot..
yes, all 3 of us had poop on us.

I get Kayla cleaned up enough to put her in the tub
and Austin comes running in wanting to help give Kayla a bath.
But the fumes of his dump are so overwhelming that I start dry heaving.

Can't a mom catch a break?

I kick him out of the bathroom,
clean Kayla up & get her in outfit #2 for the day, while dreading the task of changing Austin's dump.

Now Austin is clean, Kayla is clean and they are both taking a nap.
All in a day's work.

If you think being a stay at home mom is easy, think again.
Be prepared for lots of poop.

speak now

My kiddos and I spent the night making sugar cookies &

 Austin was pretty excited.

want some?

As we scooped the dough onto the cookie sheet, I learned my little boy can count to ten!
Thanks Sesame Street!

Baking & about everything else goes perfectly with this:

I have a weird, middle school crush on Miss Taylor...
I'm not sure what to think about it.

Baby Kayla loved watching her big brother

(Austin is trying to push her face to the camera)

I had to hold back my clean-freak side,
and let the poor boy make a mess!

But unfortunately he has already been brainwashed,
you see how clean he kept his tray?

I love spending time with my sweet Austin and he kept telling me all night that he loved me.

The remainder of my evening is spent with my kitchen tabled moved in the living room & me planted there doing projects with my hot glue gun, sewing machine & DVR.

I have lots of blankets to make and 2 showers to plan because
we have 5 new babies joining the family in the next 4 months!
Pregnant belly's everywhere and I'm soo happy it's not mine.

Where's Nick, you ask?

Welcome to busy season!

Newborn Pictures

My talented friend Mandy took some photos of Mckayla a few weeks after she was born and I haven't shared them yet! Kayla was perfect for us and let me dress her up over and over and over.... :)

Austin is such a nice big brother, Kayla is a lucky little girl.

We love our sweet princess.

Thanks Mandy!!

Crafty Mommy

Mckayla's room is full of little craft project that I did and it was so fun. I documented a few of them to share with everyone.

I saw this picture & did my best to copy it

I had wood letters cut out, then covered them in batting and fabric. This one took a long time to finish...

I used Austin's blue baskets from his nursery and added a little spray paint...

to make them perfect for Kayla's room.

I found this at Goodwill for $2 and thought it was so cute.

it took a little spray paint on the frame...

some pink paint on the hearts (I just used a leftover color sample from her wall colors)

and it looks so cute on her shelf!

This frame I was really excited about because I found it on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $12, normally $70! I have no idea what was wrong with it- but it works perfect for me!

some more white paint..

 and it looks just perfect!

Her mirror was probably my favorite find for the nursery. I had been looking for months for the perfect mirror but could only find ones I liked for $60++!
I stumbled on this one at Lowe's on clearance for $20 & it was exactly what I wanted.. just one little problem in the corner- a crack! It was too good to pass up & I found an easy fix

I super glued a piece of felt over the crack to attached one of the bows I made for her!!

You think I'm done?? The projects never end around here! I am now in full baby shower planning mode and have all kinds of projects around the house to complete. But those won't be shared until after Cristina's beautiful
Shabby Chic
baby shower!

Twins

Everyone tells me that Austin and Kayla look the same, but I don't see it.. till I did this:

Maybe I was wrong!
But I just can't tell if they look like Harris or Weaver babies...
regardless, they are dang cute.
(Good job me!)
