Cheap Kellogg's

(photo from Moms Need to Know)

Whenever I find cheap cereal I STOCK UP! Cereal goes through highs and lows and I will buy 10 boxes one month and nothing for a few months until it hits another sale. A good price on cereal (one that shouts, "Buy as many as you can!") is $1.00. Sounds impossible- it's not but truthfully I still consider up to $1.50 a good deal. Finding it at a dollar is challenging but $1.50 and under not so much. Don't buy over $1.50!
Here are some new coupons through Kellogg's. Most of them are good, especially if it is off 1 box of cereal. The $1.00-1.50 off 3 boxes of cereal isn't going to help you out much. You can only print out the coupons 1 per computer but find your husband's laptop or borrow your neighbor's computer to print it out again. Then you will be a REAL couponer!

Match these coupons at Target (remember you can double a Target coupon with a manufacture!) with their $1.00 of Kellogg's right here where you can print it out as many times as you want!

Happy Couponing & watch out for Austin's adorable Halloween costume!

Pan-Fried Chicken & Ham Parmesan

Love this dish and so does Nick (shocker!). It is super easy and requires things you usually already have.

4 chicken breasts
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 large egg
1/2 cup flour
2/3+ cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
2 tbls olive oil
8 slices Ham
4 Mozzarella cheese slices (or shredded)

1. Preheat over to 350 degrees. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Wisk together egg and 2 Tbsp water. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg mixture and dredge in breadcrumbs.
2. Cook in hot oil in large skillet 3-4 mins eachside or until golden brown. Top chicken with 2 slices ham and mozzarella cheese.
3. Bake chicken on 350 for 8 mins or until cheese is melted.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Deals I Am Loving This Week

I haven't done much with the couponing but I do have a list of deals I have bought this week at Target that require no Suday paper clippings- just hit print! The only website that you register your email is afullcup.com, which has all the Target store coupons and it is totally worth it. At Target you can double a Target store coupon with a manufacture coupon. Here are the deals:

Target

'Ice Age' or 'Horton Hears A Who' DVD- sale $10
$2.00 off 1 Ice Age or Horton = $8

Archer Farms Simple Balanced Bread- $2.39
$1.00 off AF Simple Balanced Bread
= $1.39

Archer Farms Artisan Bread- $0.99
$0.50 off Artisan Bread
= $0.49

Chex Mix- sale $1.75
$0.50 off Chex Mix- Target coupon
$0.50 off Chex Mix- manufacture coupon
= $0.75!

Special K Blueberry- $3.29
$1.00 off Kellogg's Cereal- Target coupon
$1.00 off Special K Blueberry- manufacture coupon
= $1.29!

Tips:
-Watch the expiration date, they will catch it!
-You can only use 1 Target coupon in a transaction. So if you want to buy multiple cereals/breads make it a few transactions- they get used to this.
There are a few more great deals but require coupons clipped from the Sunday paper. The movies are a great Christmas gift idea! If you thought this was helpful I will try to start adding more deals from grocery stores like Kroger & Randall's and put up a tutorial to get you started couponing. It really is great and kind of fun!

Fire

Nick falls asleep pretty fast every night because work is so exhausting for him. Sometimes I stay awake long enough to hear him say some pretty entertaining things in his sleep. A few nights ago I got a good laugh. I was lying in bed and Nick mumbles,
"Stop sweetie, not right now."
I am thinking- don't get your hopes up, I am not touching you. But I play along to get the whole story.
"What Nick, what do you want me to stop doing?"
Nick- "Just stop sweetie."
Me- "Stop what?"
Nick- "Stop being such a pyro.."
Me- "Okay Nick."

A pyro- what!? What in the world kind of dream would make him think of that. Here is the definition of pyro:

Pyromaniac- a compulsion to set things on fire.

I am going to just take the positive from this.
My husband still dreams of me.
Even if the dreams mean I am setting things on fire- does he think I am that crazy...?

I guess he better watch his back.

Catch Me If You Can

Austin has started a new game called 'Running Away from Mommy'. Austin loves this new game- I don't. He thinks it is the funniest when I am trying to load him into his car seat and usually in a hurry because I always run late.
He runs down the driveway, swerves through cars in parking lots, into our gangster neighbors' yard (is he really in a gang? Yes.) or right into the street. As I chase him I yell,

"No!"
"Come here!"
"Austin stop!"
"Do you want time out?!"
"This isn't funny!"

Oh but yes it is...to him. And as I chase him I can only think of this creepy/mischievous face...

(He was about 2 months old)

He is so naughty.
And he knows it.
He loves the chase and I know the reaction from me makes it all worth while for him. But what is a mom to do when your baby runs into the street, through parking lots or worse, into gang territory!?
I am sure onlookers are thinking, "That crazy woman has no control over her child."
They're right- I don't.

ZOO

I finally took my baby to the Zoo! Rachel and I went together and the boys had a blast. We both decided that these things are much easier with the Daddy around- they do all the chasing and we take care of the details! When we do go back I think we will hit the 'Kid Zone' first because it was a little more for Austin's age group. It had little shows, a petting zoo, a water park area and playgrounds- so fun! Here are a few pictures

Austin was really excited to go but had no idea what the Zoo was...

Austin & Peter at the entrance

The white crocodile- creepy

Austin loved the warthogs

Just in time to see grooming at the monkey exhibit- so special....
for some reason it made me think of old people.

The flamingos! One of Austin's favorites

Rachel and Peter

This is what happened when mommy got tired of pulling.

Thanks Peter for bonking your head and getting us 2 free passes onto the carousel! Hope you feel better!

I realized that my ankles look like a 5th grader's, and yet they support my 5'9 frame. It made me think of when Houston told me I looked like the aliens from 'War of the Worlds'....

Thanks Houston.

Austin loved this!! and I thought the Cheetah was super cute & stylish

Pretty sure these petting zoo animals were all on their death beds. This one never moved from this position and didn't even flinch when Austin started brushing his eye.

In love

I am having a love affair with this man...

(isn't he cute)

because he made this for me....

I love the Febreze scented ones

It was a magical experience. I have never been so excited to clean in my life. I went crazy looking for any surface that had grime and like magic, it was gone. I bought it to try on my oven because around the burners has this black/burnt build up that had been there forever and some grease build up that looked a little yellow. I wouldn't say it was gross, because my house ain't gross...but visibly dirty and I couldn't get it off! I should have taken a before picture but here is the after. (don't look at the actual silver burner, it has always looked like that)

No black build up or grim around the burners- perfectly white!! Now to just get those burners looking silver again....

And as I finish off this post I just realized:
I am 22 and was so excited about a cleaning product that I called my husband, took a picture AND wrote a blog post about it.
I am such a housewife.
It's scary.

Wake up!!!

This might be a little silly to complain about...but my baby sleeps WAY too much! I get so bored around here. This was my day yesterday:
8:00 he wakes up
8:30-9:30- exercising/getting ready/picking up
12:00-12:30 home from doing misc stuff and eating lunch
1:00 down for a nap
3:30 finished laundry, getting bored
4:00 still waiting
4:30 watching my ceiling fan
5:00 finally!
No joke- for real this baby can sleep! And he still went to bed at 8:30 without a problem. I shouldn't complain but a girl can go a little crazy stuck in a house all day!

I hung up my cute Halloween wreath this week and decided my house needed to be a bit more festive, but I don't love lots of Halloween decor. I wanted a cute mantle display and really just don't like the decor that is up right now (the gray vase and gray candlesticks on each side of the TV). So I decided I was going to return it all and went out to buy lots of autumn/thanksgiving/could pass for Halloween decorations and put them up. It turned out really cute. Gotta' love Hobby Lobby- everything on the mantle was less than $25!

Austin loves the scarecrow. He waves and says, "Hi!" every time he walks past.

My mantle has been the hardest thing to decorate in my house- just the day to day house decor and it has been driving me crazy. For now I will leave the Halloween/Thanksgiving decor up then replace it with Christmas decor and come Jan 1st I will re-evalate the mantle debate. I know, big problems I am faced with day to day.

Of course, I have to add a sweet picture of my little baby (minus the yogurt face) to remind me that when he yells, "....ummm, NO!" to me all day, he is still my favorite person.

I DIE

laughing everytime I watch this. I think my favorite part is after the 911 call when the news reporter can't even control herself. Thought you might need a good laugh.

Have a great weekend!

It's Fall!

But where did the fall weather go? My week has been a bit lame, but Austin always keeps everything exciting. He is in full blown tantrum mode. I'm just lovin every minute of it. The kicking, screaming and yelling 'No' never gets old. I experienced a shill scream so loud this week, it set off the car alarm in the parking lot we were walking through- no joke..a car alarm. My favorite was when I was in a stationary store looking for invites and a fit began. He wasn't satisfied with the Sonic PowerAde slush I had just bought him (in an attempt to keep him occupied), so he threw it...in the stationary store...full of expensive paper....and yes, you guess it- the cup exploded. Blue, Sonic slush all over the floor. The ladies were really nice and I am pretty sure most paper was avoided but we weren't so lucky in Kirkland's where he broke a cute Pilgrims figurine. What do I do!? I try and control him and make his life so miserable when he is bad but I feel like I am the lone ranger with the naughty toddler.
The other 50% of the time he is adorable is I taught him how to hug me- it's so cute.
My big highlight of the week was ordering my new ottoman! I can't wait to get it (4-6 weeks) and I think it will look great. I will post pictures when it comes and other parts of the house where I added some new additions- it is finally starting to feel like our home!
